Australia Awards Scholarships for International Students is open for Australia Awards Approved Countries. The scholarship allows Masters level program(s) in the field of All Subjects taught at Australian Universities

Australia Awards Scholarships, formerly known as Australian Development Scholarships (ADS), provide opportunities for people from developing countries, particularly those countries located in the Indo-Pacific region, to undertake full-time undergraduate or postgraduate study at participating Australian universities and Technical and Further Education (TAFE) institutions.

The scholarships are offered for the minimum period necessary for the individual to complete the academic program specified by the Australian higher education institution, including any preparatory training.

Africa:

Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible to receive a Scholarship, applicants must:

– be a minimum of 18 years of age on 1 February of the year of commencing the scholarship

– be a citizen of a participating country (as listed on the Australia Awards website) and be residing in and applying for the scholarship from their country of citizenship

– not be a citizen of Australia, hold permanent residency in Australia, or be applying for a visa to live in Australia permanently

– not be married to, engaged to, or a de facto of a person who holds, or is eligible to hold, Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency, at any time during the application, selection, or mobilization phases (note: residents of Cook Islands, Niue, and Tokelau with New Zealand citizenship are eligible but must apply for a Student visa [subclass 500])

– Do not be current serving military personnel

– not have previously received a long-term Australia Award unless they have resided outside of Australia for twice the length of the total time that they were in Australia (for example, a previous awardee who has been on an Australia Awards Scholarship in Australia for four years will not be eligible to apply for another Australia Awards Scholarship until they have resided outside Australia for eight years)

– have satisfied any specific criteria established by the Program Area or the government of the applicant’s country of citizenship (e.g. having worked a certain number of years in an appropriate sector)

– be able to satisfy the admission requirements of the institution at which the award is to be undertaken (this may mean that Program Areas will need to withdraw an award offer if the recipient cannot satisfy the institution’s admission requirements. This may not be known until Program Areas request a placement at selected institutions).

– be able to satisfy all requirements of the Department of Home Affairs to hold a Student Visa. This may mean that the Program Area will need to withdraw an award offer if the recipient cannot satisfy the visa requirements.

– Not be applying for a scholarship for a course of study at an academic level lesser than they have already achieved (eg be applying for a Master’s scholarship when they already hold a Ph.D.).

– Applicants must inform the Program Area of any connection or relationship to staff employed at Program Areas (including locally engaged staff at post) or with managing contractors so that the application may be properly and transparently managed.

1. The Leo Howard Memorial Bursary Scholarship at the University of Queensland

Aiming to give full support to talented international students who show a commitment to community service, this bursary provides financial assistance for undergraduate study at the University of Queensland.

Value: AUS$ 7,000 (full amount); Duration: 3 years; Description: Offered by the Leo Howard Memorial Trust.

2. ANU Chancellor’s International Scholarships, Australia

These scholarships are available to applicants from all around the world, but priority will be given to ANU students from China, India, Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Cambodia, etc.
In addition to receiving an undergraduate scholarship, successful applicants may also be offered an award for graduate study or a master’s or doctoral degree at ANU.

1. Griffith University Scholarships

Some of the scholarships are fully funded and others are partly funded. They are meant for undergraduates, postgraduates, and postdoctoral studies. This scholarship scheme is for international students who are to undergo a full-time course at Griffith University.

2. Deakin University Scholarships

The Deakin University Scholarships is proposed for postgraduate studies alone and is aimed at awarding the scholarship to international students that have shown academic excellence in their bachelor’s degree. The scholarship award is rated at $28,600 per annum, and a relocation allowance from $500 to $1,500, and also taking care of the health insurance.

3. Deakin Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship

This is for both undergraduates and postgraduates, the scholarship will cover all your tuition or half of it.

4. Melbourne Research Scholarships

The Melbourne Research Scholarships is a fully-funded scholarship scheme for international students giving approximately 600 scholarships available for masters and doctoral research studies. The scholarship covers the living expenses of $31,200 per year, Full fee offset, Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) Single Membership, Relocation grant, and many other benefits.

5. Charles Darwin University Scholarships

There are different types of scholarships that Charles Darwin University offers. There are two types of scholarships that are fully funded, and four types that are partially funded – they cover up to half of the tuition fees.

6. Carnegie Mellon University Scholarships

Carnegie Mellon University Scholarships are fully funded master’s scholarships for international students. The CMU Australia Scholarships for International Students is valued at AUD $30,000 for the duration of 21-month master’s degrees, and AUD $20,000 for the duration of 12-month master’s degrees.

7. Queensland University Law Scholarships

Queensland University Law Scholarships is a partially funded scholarship for international students. This scholarship is available for master’s studies and will cover 25% or 50% of tuition fees according to the recommendation of the Head.

8. Rotary Peace Fellowships

Rotary Peace Fellowships are fully funded scholarships for international students. These scholarships are only offered for masters and Ph.D. studies. Rotary Peace Fellowships program covers tuition and fees, room and board, round-trip transportation, and all internship and field-study expenses.

9. University of Sydney Scholarship

The University of Sydney Scholarship is a fully-funded masters and Ph.D. scholarship for international students. This scholarship cover tuition fees and living allowance. The scholarship amount of $40,000 is payable for one year in two equal installments.

10. Swinburne International Excellence Scholarship

Swinburne International Excellence Scholarship is a fully-funded scholarship for international students. This scholarship is offered for undergraduate and master’s studies. Swinburne International Excellence Scholarship will cover the amount of $2500 a year off your course fees.

11. University of South Australia Scholarships

University of South Australia Scholarships is master’s and Ph.D. tuition fee scholarships for international students. International Research Tuition Scholarships (IRTS) provide the tuition fee for the complete period of the research study.

12. The Asian Development Bank – Japan Scholarship Program

The Asian Development Bank – Japan Scholarship Program is a funded scholarship for international students. This scholarship is offered for postgraduate studies. Around 300 scholarships are awarded annually. This scholarship includes full tuition fees, monthly allowance for expenses, housing, books and instructional materials, medical insurance, and travel expenses.

13. Australia Government Research Training Program Scholarship

Australia Government Research Training Program Scholarship is a fully-funded scholarship for international students. This scholarship is offered for master’s and Ph.D. studies. RTP scholarship provides a monthly stipend, fees Offset pays for the tuition fees and allowances to assist students with ancillary costs of a higher degree by research.

14. Bond University Scholarships

15. Macquarie University Scholarship

Macquarie University Scholarship is a funded scholarship for international students. This scholarship is offered for undergraduate and master’s studies. The Macquarie University Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship provides an average amount of AUD $10,000.

16. Monash University Scholarship

Monash University Scholarship is a fully-funded scholarship for international students. This scholarship is offered for doctoral research studies. This scholarship covers an annual living allowance: of $35,600, a relocation allowance: of $550, and a research allowance per annum: of $1,500.

17. Southern Cross University Scholarship

Southern Cross University Scholarship is a funded scholarship for international students. This scholarship is offered for Undergraduate and Master’s studies. This scholarship is valued at a $5,000 Fee reduction each year, paid in installments throughout each study year, commencing in the first session and continuing, based on successful completion of each study session.

18. Edith Cowan University Scholarship

Edith Cowan University Scholarship is a fully-funded scholarship for international students. This scholarship is offered for masters and Ph.D. studies. This scholarship provides a stipend of $28,420 per annum, a relocation allowance, and an Overseas Students Health Cover.
